About me

Artist Marianne Boudesteijn was born in Zwijndrecht on December the 19th, 1981.

She grows up on the countryside in Giessenburg, a small village near Dordrecht and Rotterdam. Marianne studies fashion at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam from 1999 until 2004. Her graduation project is her own collection about "clothing as symbol for a woman’s position in society". Her final fashion show and the exhibition of her designs are showcased at exhibition space Tent in Rotterdam.

This collection receives nominations for both the Maaskantprijs and the Zuid Hollandse Vormgevingsprijs in 2004. After her studies, Marianne starts creating more and more artwork with paint. This is where her heart lies. She loves to work with watercolour paint. Working with colours, investigating new techniques and the way her works turn out fascinates her. Marianne lives in Gorinchem, her house is also where she creates her artworks.
